How have you seen God at work in your ministry since becoming a commissioned pastor?
I have seen God at work through the Missional Communities we were able to launch last month. Over 100 people have been to a weekly ‘MC’ – where they eat, give thanks, and pray. It has been exciting to see our church start to gather as a family – not just on a Sunday!
How did your commissioned pastor training prepare you for the work God has you doing today?
My Commissioned Pastor training was essential for the work I am doing. It helped me understand and have a deep love for Reformed Theology, prepared me for difficult situations such as walking along someone who has gone through suffering, chronic pain, and loss. It opened my eyes to a new way of looking at the kingdom – it taught me that when one is in the dark night of the soul, there is AWAYS light. Not only did it teach me that, but it showed me how to identify it.
What words of wisdom would you give to someone who is discerning a possible call to commissioned pastor ministry?
I would say to someone discerning a possible call to the Commissioned Pastor ministry that it’s ok to not have a clear answer – that this path is an ongoing journey. Lean into the ones who have gone before you, and collaborate with the ones beside you. And… have FUN with it!
